Take Pictures

Every Monday morning, I take a progress photo, I try not to step on the scale (as hard as that is at times) and I use this photo to see how I am doing with my fitness and nutrition.
I was not expecting great things this morning as this past week was crazy busy and we had Christmas the mix! Workouts were on point, but nutrition, not so much! I tried, but I didn't always get all my meals in and they weren't always the healthiest, but I'm okay with that!
Life is about living and finding balance! Your fitness and nutrition is going to have ups and downs, don't beat yourself up over it, just keep pushing forward!
Focus on how far you have come, not how far you have to go! And take pictures, they tell you more than a scale!

The Benefits of Foam Rolling

Foam rollers are essentially a self-myofascial release therapy.  They are a quick and easy tool that you can use daily to rehab injuries, but also prevent injuries! Foam rolling can also help with muscle soreness and tightness.

You can foam roll anytime - before a workout, after a workout, after work, before bed, whenever you have time.

A preworkout foam rolling session warms up your muscles, whereas a postworkout session helps increase your flexibility in the area you are rolling.

The most important thing to remember is to go slow and when you find a tight spot, hold it there for a bit longer to work that spot out.
You use your body's weight, so you can make it is challenging as you would like.

And know that it may hurt a bit at the beginning, but it's a good hurt. And the more often you do it, the easier it will be!

If you are just beginning, I would start with a smooth foam roller, not the rumble roller that I have here! :)

Living Your Passion

OMG! What a fun night last night! First a call with Beachbody corporate about a trip I earned to LA.  And then I was a guest speaker with my success partner on another coach’s call!

Old Becky would have been scared to death to be a guest speaker and probably would have backed out.  But not anymore! New Becky was not only excited, but I was confident in myself and what I was sharing! And yes I was in my bathroom - good lighting and quietest spot!

When you are living out your passion, you embrace the uncomfortableness, you take chances, you strive to be better each and every day, you learn from your mistakes and celebrate the wins!

Last night was a win on so many levels! Deciding to get fit after babies and becoming a coach has changed my life in more ways than I ever imagined!

You CAN do it too

I want you to know that you can do it too!
We all have the same 24 hours in a day, we are all busy, we are all pulled in a bazillion directions each day, yet that does not mean you should neglect yourself and your health.
I don't always love getting up in the 4:00 hour to workout, but I do it!
* I do it because I am important!
* I do it because I love myself!
* I do it because I know how it makes me feel!
* I do it because I know it makes me a better mom, teacher, wife, coach!
* I do it because I matter!
* I do it because I know if I don't do it first thing in the morning, I might not get it done later - due to time, other commitments, excuses - yes excuses, the list goes on!
* I do it because I have made myself a priority!

And when I don't want to do it, I remind myself of those things! If you struggle too, make a list like this and post it somewhere you see daily! Keep working towards those health and fitness goals!

Learning Process


Health and fitness definitely is a learning experience!

You learn what you enjoy doing.
You learn what you do not enjoy doing.

You learn how your body reacts to certain  types of workouts and foods.

You learn how to incorporate fitness and healthy eating into your life.

You learn how being active and healthy make you feel.

And the list can go on and on - it's a learning process.  

And during that learning, sometimes it's a great day while others not so much! That is where the learning is most important.  

On those bad days, see if you can find a trigger for whatever caused the struggle and then find a way to change that!

Franchising Myself

Ahhhh! I am filling out and faxing in the paperwork to open my SECOND BEACHBODY BUSINESS CENTER!
When you reach 2 ⭐️ Diamond in Beachbody, you have the opportunity to franchise yourself under your first business! So that is just what I am doing tonight!
This means my team is GROWING and we are building momentum and going after our BIG SCARY GOALS!! And I could not be more excited!
Three and a half years ago when I started this journey with Insanity, I had no idea what was in store for me.
I thought I was just going to get in shape and get a 25% discount on my shakes, which I thought I would only drink for a month!
But what I've received in return was something I never imagined and still cannot believe! Like pinch me, is this really happening? It is amazing what happens to you when you start believing in yourself!
Three and a half years ago, I was just trying to lose my "fluff" as I called it. I thought I had found a fitness and weight loss solution, but what I found was a stronger, more confident woman, who has learned that I need to take care of me before I can take care of anyone else and I am better for that! When I am not taking care of me, everyone suffers (ask my co-workers) :)
I was able to be HOME this summer with my FAMILY, all while building a team that will not only impact my life, but the life of my coaches and challengers now and in the future!

Choices

Your life is designed by the choices you make each and every day! Big or little, those choices, those decisions guide you either closer or further away from your goals and dreams!
Take life day by day, decision by decision. Those small decisions each day will compound into huge results.
In the book The Compound Effect, Darren Hardy gives the example of getting a million dollars today or a penny doubled each day for 30 days!
Do you know which one is worth more?
Yep, the penny! Small decisions each day.
Go for a 30 minute walk over watching mindless TV, eat an apple instead of a cookie, take the kids outside and kick the ball around instead of playing electronics. Those decisions will move you closer to the goal of a healthier lifestyle!

Transformation Story

When I look back at who I was when I graduated from college, who I was when I moved to Texas, and even who I was just 4 years ago, I am amazing at how much I have changed! Not only as a person, but a woman, a wife, a mom, a coach and a leader!
In college and after, I was not very confident in myself or my body! I would hide behind anything that I could, even my smile, and my outlook on life was totally not where it is today!
What changed you ask?
I found Beachbody, not just the workouts, although those helped for sure, but I found coaching.
Through coaching, I began working on myself from the inside out! I started reading and listening to personal development books. I started focusing on having a positive mindset and starting each day with gratitude and devotions!
Through coaching and personal development, I have become a better leader and a better listener. I have made lifelong friends that live all over the country, and women who support my goals and challenge me to dream bigger.
Through coaching and bettering myself, I have learned time management, I have learned how to work towards living my life by my design, I have learned how to be more productive and have realized that I am better when I take care of me first each and every day!
For all of these things and so much more, I am forever grateful!

END OF SUMMER


As summer comes to an end and I've been reflecting about this summer, I am blown away about how fabulous it was.
We had play dates, swam, went to water parks, went to camp, learned to swim, went to the lake, got library cards and books, snuggled, slept in, stayed up late, played at the park and so on!
I'm beyond grateful that I found Beachbody coaching as it has helped fund these adventures and generate extra income so that I can spend my summers at home with my kids!
I have been able to design my work hours to fit around our time together and that truly is a blessing!
